Beelicious presenta l’ospite di Gennaio: l’inglesissimo e intergalattico Tom Staar!
In agguato dal profondo della galassia più remota, Tom ha spinto fino a noi il tipo di pezzi che fanno venir voglia di ballare e dimenarsi guidati da mosse incontrollabili. Fortunatamente per noi, c’è qualcuno che è riuscito a captare i suoi segnali e a mettersi in contatto con lui; stiamo parlando dei suoi colleghi di etichetta: Tom, infatti, è il terzo membro fondatore della label inglese Moda Music, diventato in breve tempo uno dei produttori Made in Uk più seguiti in tutto il mondo.
Tom ha affinato la sua tecnica lavorando in studio come tecnico del suono per diversi anni, dove produceva anche tracce per molti degli artisti più prolifici della musica dance. Ora, grazie al giusto allineamento dei pianeti, Tom è finalmente pronto per difendere le nostre umili piste da ballo con la sua gamma interstellare di munizioni sonore.
Con in mano tre EP usciti su Moda Music (l’ultimo Pandemonium, uscito il 6 Dicembre 2010) e remix per Fenech Soler, Crookers, Renee Fleming, Human Life, We Have Band, Basement Jaxx e l’ultimo Dancefloor per Shake Aletti, Tom ha da tempo iniziato a girare il mondo incendiando ogni sorta di dancefloor, da club che ospitano al massimo 500 persone a festival che ne accolgono 20mila.
Con l’approdare delle serate di Moda nei clubs di tutta Europa, l’etichetta è ormai sulla bocca di tutti e le produzioni di Tom viaggiano sulla stessa orbita.
A breve un nuovo capitolo si aprirà davanti a noi: il Tom Staar and Friends, un EP in collaborazione con Style Of Eye, Tony Senghore, Herve e Sam Obernik; nella cabina di pilotaggio si mormora che questo progetto farà letteralmente esplodere le charts!
A fare gli onori di casa sarà sempre Elisa Bee, mente e dj resident di Beelicious.
Questo party, secondo nella storia di Beelicious ma primo del 2011, è pronto ad accogliervi nel migliore dei modi con un’altra prima volta a Milano davvero imperdibile!

Beelicious proudly presents his January guest: the english and intergalactic artist Tom Staar!
Lurking deep in the galaxy he’s putting out the kind of tracks that just make you want to juke around the dancefloor with some downright skanky moves. Luckily for us, the clever people at Moda Music intercepted his signals and have been in contact with him: in fact Tom is the third member of Team Moda and he’s fast becoming one of the UK’s most gazed upon producers.
Working behind the scenes, Tom honed his skills as a studio engineer over a number of years, producing for some of Dance Music’s most prolific names. Now, as the moons align, Tom is finally ready to defend our humble dance floors with his own interstellar spectrum of sonic ammunition.
With three EPs on Moda Music (the last Pandemonium EP, released on Dec. 6) and remixes for Fenech Soler, Crookers, Renee Fleming, Human Life & We Have Band already under his utility-belt, his credentials have seen him take-off all over the World, playing everything from 500 capacity clubs to 20,000 capacity festivals. With Moda club-nights kicking off all over Europe, the Moda Music label going from strength-to-strength, and now Tom’s own productions heading into orbit.
Tom Staar & Friends is the next chapter — a collaborations EP with Style Of Eye, Tony Senghore, Herve and Sam Obernik. Word on the flight deck is that this is shaping up to be completely and utterly off the chart!
Elisa Bee aka Beeskit, the mind behind Beelicious project, is the resident dj.
This party, the second one on Beelicious story but the first of 2011, is ready to host you in the best way with another “first time in Milan” that you can’t miss!

Fakirology è il titolo dell’ultimo EP di Highbloo, uscito sull’etichetta belga Lektroluv a fine Settembre 2010.
L’EP contiene due tracce, Guiro e Fakirology, con i relativi remix di Mumbai Science e Will Bailey.
Il progetto grafico dell’EP è stato curato da RVO, amico di Highbloo e membro della crew Party Harders.

Fakirology is the name of Highbloo last EP published on September 2010 by the belgian label Lektroluv.
The EP contains two tracks, Guiro and Fakirology, with remixes by Mumbai Science and Will Bailey.
The grafic project has been created by RVO, Highbloo’s friend and Party Harders crew member.
Il primo EP di Highbloo si chiama My Sitar, anch’esso uscito su Lektroluv nell’Aprile del 2010.
Contiene tre tracce: My Sitar, My Orkestar e 50 Cl.

Oltre a cercare notizie sugli artisti che vi propone, Beelicious ne crea delle nuove in esclusiva: sei domande e sei risposte per scoprire qualcosa di più su Luca—HighBloo e sulla sua storia musicale direttamente da lui.
Innanzi tutto benvenuto Luca, questa è la tua prima volta in Italia e ne siamo molto orgogliosi! Cosa sai della scena italiana e dei produttori e djs italiani?
Si e grazie mille per avermi riportato in Italia, perchè è proprio dall’Italia che provengo! Per quanto riguarda la scena italiana, immagino che la maggior parte di essa si concentri al nord e riguardo i djs e produttori non è un segreto che ce ne siano tanti eccezionali come i Crookers, i Bloody Beetroots, Congorock, Supabeatz, Riva Starr, Lazy Ants, His Majesty Andre, Mowgli, Keith, NT89 e bla bla bla!
Parlaci della tua genesi musicale dall’infanzia a oggi.
Ho sempre vissuto circondato dalla musica perchè mio padre è un famoso chitarrista qui in Belgio, andava in tour spesso con grandi artisti e io avevo modo di ascoltare tantissima musica. All’inizio ascoltavo funk e jazz, per poi entrare nel mondo della musica rock. Allo stesso tempo ascoltavo tanto Fatboy Slim e probabilmente è stato proprio lui il primo artista di musica elettronica che ho ascoltato. Come sai però ho solo vent’anni e mi sono immerso nella musica elettronica coi Justice e la crew della Ed Banger e da lì sono partito con l’evolvere il mio stile. In questo momento mi piacciono molto la techno e la dubstep, ma ascolto comunque ancora molta musica non elettronica.
Come e perchè hai cominciato a suonare/produrre musica electro?
Come dicevo, ascoltavo anche molta musica electro e di conseguenza frequentavo tutti gli electro parties. Ma fu nel 2008, quando andai a sentire Popof al Café D’Anvers, che mi innamorai follemente del fatto di essere un dj. Pensai “Wow, questo ragazzo fa musica da solo a si diverte tantissimo in tour in giro per il mondo, anche io voglio farlo!” ed è a quel punto che ho iniziato a creare la mia musica col computer.
Puoi raccontarci qualche aneddoto sulle tue esperienze al Pukkelpop e all’I Love Techno di quest’anno?
Il Pukkelpop è probabilmente la storia più bella che io possa raccontare a qualcuno.
Mentre stavo suonando insieme ai Party Harders, il mio agente si è avvicinato a me e mi ha detto “Hey Luca, so che puoi suonare la dubstep! Ti andrebbe di sostituire Nero questo pomeriggio?” Ho risposto immediatamente con un deciso SI! Suonava come un “Se non hai nient’altro da fare dopo, potresti sostituire Nero questo pomeriggio davanti a 7000 persone?” hahaha!
Sull’I Love Techno mi viene subito in mente il fatto che c’erano anche i miei genitori! Li ho invitati a raggiungermi lì, così sono rimasti a sentirmi nel backstage, è stato grandioso! Sono rimasti molto impressionati!
I tuoi tre produttori/djs/musicisti preferiti di sempre: cosa significano per te?
Sceglierò un dj, un produttore e un musicista, che nonostante siano cose completamente diverse, hanno comunque in comune la musica.
Dj: Brodinski è il mio dj preferito di sempre, mi piace il suo stile e il suo modo di mixare.
Produttore: non ho un produttore preferito in particolare, per nominarne alcuni: Style of Eye, Phunk Investigation, Wolfgang Gartner, Popof…
Musicista: anche in questo caso non ne ho uno preferito in particolare, alcuni sono: Steve Gadd, Les Claypool, Prince, Maceo Parker…
Quali sono gli artisti che stai seguendo di più in questo momento?
Phunk Investigation, Da Fresh, Flux Pavilon, Vaski…

Welcome Luca, this is your first time in Italy and we are so proud of it! What do you know about italian scene and italian djs/producers?
Yep and thank you so much for bringing me back to Italy as I am from there! Well on the scene I guess the major part of it is in the north and on the djs/producers, it’s not a secret that there are now a lot of great producers from there as Crookers, Bloody, Congorock, Supabeatz, Riva Starr, Lazy Ants, His Majesty Andre, Mowgli, Keith, NT 89 blah blah blah blah!
Talk about your musical genesis from childhood to today.
I have always been into music a lot as my dad is a great guitar player here in Belgium, he used to tour a lot with big artists and stuff, so I always listened to a lot of music. First I listened to funk and jazz music, then I got really into rock music. At the same time I was listening to Fatboy Slim a lot and that was probably the first electronic artist I listened to. But you know as I am only twenty, I got really into electronic music with Justice and the Ed banger buzz and from there I evolved with the style. I am now really into techno and dubstep but still listening to a lot of non electronic music.
How and why did you get involved in playing/producing electro music?
Well I was listening to a lot electro music as I told you, so I used to go out to all the electro parties. But in 2008 I went to see Popof playing at “Café D’Anvers” and I felt totally in love with the fact of being dj! I was like “man this guy makes music alone and have so much fun touring all over the world, I so wanna get to that!” and so that’s how I started to make my own music with a computer.
Can you tell us any nice story about your Pukkelpop and I Love Techno experiences?
About Pukkelpop, that’s probably the nicest story I will ever tell to anyone. While i was playing my set together with Party Harders, my agent came to me and said “Hey Luca, I know you can play dubstep! Would it be ok for you to replace NERO this afternoon?” I directly answered a big YES! It was like “Do you wanna replace NERO in front of 7000 people as you have spare time” hahaha!
About I Love Techno, I think it was my parents! I invited them to come there, so they were backstage watching me during my whole set, it was awesome! They were really impressed!
Your three favourite producers/djs/musicians ever: what did they mean for you?
Ok i’m gonna do one Dj, one producer and then one musician as i think it’s completely different but still they all have music in common.
Dj: Brodinski is my favourite dj ever, I love his style and his way of mixing.
Producer: I don’t have one in particular but to name a few: Style of Eye, Phunk Investigation, Wolfgang Gartner, Popof…
Musician: still I don’t have one in particular but to name a few: Steve Gadd, Les Claypool, Prince, Maceo Parker…

Dopo aver stregato il pubblico del Pukkelpop ed essere stato definito come la rivelazione dell’I Love Techno di quest’anno, sbarca per la prima volta a Milano il primo guest di Beelicious: Highbloo. Il Rocket è pronto ad accoglierlo e noi non vediamo l’ora di assistere al suo show fatto di tre cdjs, un mixer e aria fresca.
Highbloo (Luca Di Ferdinando, classe 1990) ha approcciato la musica quando ancora era un bambino, arrivando a creare il suo progetto electro dopo aver visto Popof al Café D’Anvers nel Dicembre 2008.
Da Gennaio 2009 ha lavorato a molte produzioni e remix; il suo stile può essere definito come un armonioso mix tra midget, dirty dutch e minimal techno.
I suo pezzi sono stati catturati da blog molto influenti dell’ambito, come quello del Fabric di Londra e il Buzz En Direkt, e Highbloo ha già ricevuto il supporto di molti djs intenazionali, tra i quali Brodinski e The Subs in primis, poi Crookers, Dr. Lektroluv, Foamo, LA Riots, Sound of Stereo, Don Rimini, Sharkslayer.
Highbloo fa anche parte della celebre crew Party Harders e il suo primo EP My Sitar e il seguente Fakirology sono usciti su Lektroluv, l’etichetta belga di proprietà del Dr. Lektroluv.
A fare gli onori di casa sarà Elisa Bee: amante di filtered house e UK garage, veterana dell’electro, devota dell’hiphop e attratta da tutto ciò che riguarda l’old school, Elisa è mente e dj resident di Beelicious. D’ora in poi quindi, oltre ai dj set, vi proporrà guests eccezionali e suoni nuovi e imperdibili.

After charming the crowd at Pukkelpop and being defined as the revelation of I Love Techno 2010, he comes for the first time in Milan the first guest of Beelicious: Highbloo. Rocket club is ready to welcome him and we can’t wait to hear his show of three cdjs, a mixer and fresh air.
Highbloo (Luca Di Ferdinando, 1990) got into music since he was child and created his own electro project just right after seeing Popof at Café D’Anvers in December 2008. Since january 2009, he has been working on a lot of productions; his style can be defined as a sweet mix between midget, dirty dutch, minimal techno.
His tracks got quickly caught by influencing blogs, like Fabric London one and Buzz En Direkt, and he already got supported by the likes of international dj’s as Crookers, Brodinski, Dr. Lektroluv, Foamo, LA riots, The Subs, Sound of stereo, Don rimini, Sharkslayer.
He’s also part of the Party Harders crew and his first EP My Sitar and the following Fakirology have been released on Lektroluv.
Elisa Bee is Beelicious’ resident dj: she loves filtered house and UK garage, electro and hiphop music and she’s addicted to old school stuffs. Elisa is also the mind behind Beelicious project. From now on, she will introduce you to extraordinary guests and new unmissable sounds.
